Stacy Williams
As a child of six, Stacy Williams began creating designs in pen and ink or watercolors. Later, she won awards in art competitions sponsored by 4-H and taught painting to teens and provided illustrations for children's books during her college years.
Stacy started as a decorator at Fenton in 1993 and was promoted to Decorating Designer in 2000. She likes ''fun patterns'' and loves to design landscapes and seascapes. Her brush deftly sweeps on broad strokes of paint but turns gentle when she creates the minute details. "Sometimes I look at a piece of glass and I just know what I want to paint,'' she says.
At Fenton, Stacy specialized in creating our Mary Gregory style designs, such as the Cobalt Vase (02744EE). The Vase features a handpainted Mary Gregory-style design by Stacy of a man playing golf. The art of painting in the Mary Gregory style with its unique shading and raised opaque details tests the talents of the most accomplished decorators and is a tribute to Stacy's skill. Her work has been recognized with an award from the Society of Glass and Ceramic Decorators.
