The Alley Cat is among the most collectible items in
Fenton history. This whimsical figurine has also been one
of Fenton's most popular items since it was first made in
1970. Fenton collectors just can't seem to get enough of
the Alley Cat's characteristic grin!
The mould for this piece originated at the
U.S. Glass Co. in Tiffin, Ohio during the 1920s and was
purchased by Fenton Art Glass in the mid-1960s. Since that
time, this Alley Cat has been made in a rainbow of colors
and decorative treatments. We're sure this latest Limited
Edition Alley Cat will become a collector favorite!
Michelle Kibbe's delightful "Nutcracker
Soldiers" design works well on the glass canvas of our 11"
Opal Satin Alley Cat Figurine. She created a soft blue
background with delicate snowflakes. Three Nutcracker
Soldiers, clad in colorful uniforms, stand guard on the
front of this figurine. Each soldier holds a star-topped
staff. Note the brilliant blue eye and winking eye on this
Alley Cat!
Each Nutcracker Soldiers Alley Cat Figurine is
$190. |

The first Fenton Tree (5535) was offered in the
1992 Christmas catalog supplement. The 6.5" tree was created
by designer Cathy See and initially offered in ruby, green
with iced branches or iridized crystal, each accented with a
tiny gold bird on one of the branches. Two smaller trees were
added a year later. We're pleased to once again offer the 6.5"
Tree in Opal Satin, featuring a colorful Holly and Hearts hand
painted design by Michelle Kibbe. She created the tree
background in soft green shades and added a bright red, white
and green striped border around the base. Large heart-shaped
designs with sparkling glitter and small holly and berry
sprigs adorn all sides of this figurine. See inset photos
above for details on the holly sprig and glitter heart.
Each Holly Hearts Tree
Figurine is $80.

We're pleased to include this seasonal
favorite to our Limited Editions for this week. . . the
Pumpkinhead Figurine. The mould for this figurine was
designed by sculptor Suzi Whitaker. "Pumpkinhead" joined
Fenton's cast of colorful Halloween characters in 2007.
Kim Barley created a whimsical "Apple
Harvest" scene with the pumpkinhead holding a basket of
recently harvested apples. A menagerie of creatures keep
an eye on things... there a black crow perched on one arm
of the scarecrow and a large black cat is peeking over a
pumpkin. A smaller black cat with a gray mouse pal observe
the scene. Kim added a large sunflower with smaller floral
details. Note the checkered front and the delightful
details on the face! Additional views of this "Apple
Harvest" Pumpkinhead Figurine are shown below.
Each Apple Harvest Pumpkinhead
Figurine is $110.
Pre-orders for the Nutcracker
Soldiers Alley Cat,
the Holly Hearts Tree Figurine and Apple Harvest Pumpkinhead

Robin Spindler recently researched
lighthouses for a design idea and came across one named
"Tourlitis Lighthouse", located in Greece. Captivated by
the story behind this charming lighthouse, she made it the
feature of her design on this 7" tall x 5" wide crystal
Iceberg Paperweight.
This charming lighthouse is the only Greek
lighthouse to be built entirely by Greek hands in 1897. A
flight of stairs carved into the rocks lead to the
lighthouse. It is perched on the islet of Tourlitis, a
large chunk of craggy rock rising out of the sea, on
Andros Island in Greece.
The lighthouse was bombarded during the
World War II. It was restored in 1994.
This is the first automatic lighthouse in
Greece. The lighthouse "keeper "doesn't actually reside
there.
Robin's hand painted details are
meticulously executed (see additional photos below). Two
white gulls glide above the large frothy waves on the
front of the paperweight.
The Tourlitis Lighthouse is painted on the back, using a
reverse painting technique, which results in an amazing
three-dimensional effect. Each Tourlitis Lighthouse
Iceberg Paperweight is $110.

Robin Spindler chose an interesting hand
painted design theme for this 5.5" round crystal
Paperweight. She recently commented about how animals seem
to sense things that humans can't. While humans may not
hear a noise or sense a movement, an animal may go in to
an "alert mode" and stare at something in the distance.
This gave Robin the idea for the "Ghost from the Past"
design.
Using a reverse painting technique, Robin
created a sunset scene with a dark forest. Note the soft
golden-pink hues of the setting sun in the background. A
large buck (painted in the background) and a doe (in
the foreground) stare at a ghostly image of a soldier,
perhaps from the Revolutionary War. This Paperweight
will definitely start an interesting conversation! Each
Ghost From
The Past Round Paperweight
is $110. |

Kim Barley transformed this 3.75" Opal Satin
Sitting Cat Figurine into an adorable kitty we named "Mr.
Gray". She used gray, white and black to create the subtle
shades of fur on this figurine. Note those large golden eyes,
white whiskers and pink-tipped ears! "Mr. Gray" would make a
perfect gift for the figurine collector or cat enthusiast in
your life. . . or treat yourself!
Each Mr. Gray Sitting Cat Figurine
is $80.
Kim
Barley loves creating her popular whimsical scenes. She
continues her snowman theme on this 3.5" Round Crystal
Paperweight. Using the reverse painting technique, she hand
painted a cute smiling snowman with bright blue eyes gazing at
a brilliant and sparkling golden star. The face is painted on
the back of the paperweight and the star is on the front,
creating a wonderful three-dimensional effect.
Each Star Bright Snowman Round Paperweight is $65.
Pre-orders for the
Tourlitis Lighthouse
Iceberg Paperweight,
Ghost From The Past Round Paperweight, Mr. Gray
Sitting Cat Figurine, and the Star Bright Snowman Round
Paperweight

Here's a wonderful one of-a-kind hand painted
Stylized Cat on Fount figurine (9" tall to the tops of the
ears!) from Fenton artist Michelle Kibbe. Satin finished Ruby
glass (made by Mosser using the Fenton Art Glass mould)
provides the perfect background for Michelle's festive scene
of playful Snowmen and Snowwomen, from her whimsical painting
style to the many details on this Stylized Cat on Fount
figurine. The cat sports a scarf with red crosshatch design
that matches the scarves on the snowmen. Note the hand painted
details on the cat's face! Michelle’s wintry scene has Snowmen
and Snowwomen frolicking in a snow-covered landscape of pine
trees and falling snow. Dotted white accents encircle the top
section of the entire base of the fount. Animal figurines on
the fount as pressed in production are among the most popular
Fenton collectibles, and this example will have pride of place
in any collection. This one-of-a-kind hand painted Ruby glass
Stylized Cat on Fount is identified, dated and signed: "2019
hand painted by M. Kibbe OOAK".
Just in time for Christmas 2019, here’s an
opportunity to purchase a special sample item from “Fenton
Christmas past!” Introduced in the 1990’s as part of the
“Birth of a Savior” series designed by artist/designer Frances
Burton, this limited edition iridescent Spruce Green open edge
plate (9.25” diameter) was called “The Arrival” and debuted in
1998, limited to 2500. The hand painted scene will be familiar
to all of those who enjoy traditional, well-known Christmas
stories. This plate, produced from a mould that originated at
Westmoreland Glass, was hand painted by Fenton artist Pam
Fleak, and her signature can be seen on the reverse side,
along with the inscribed designation “sample.” Randy Fenton,
Fenton Gift Shop president/treasurer, has personally signed
this plate as well.
These Fenton's eBay auctions will end at 2 p.m. ET on
Wednesday, December 4th. |
