Fenton Gift Shop is pleased to offer these new Limited
Edition selections. Each piece features a design by our
award-winning Fenton artists, and will be hand painted,
signed and dated.
Included in this grouping are a 7.25" Opal Satin Square
Vase, a 5.75" Opal Satin Ghost figurine, a 3.5" Crown
Tuscan Sitting Cat figurine, and a 7.25" Opal Satin
Chessie Cat Covered Box, all
handcrafted by our friends at Mosser Glass.
Each of
these Limited Edition pieces was made exclusively for the Fenton Gift
Shop, using a Fenton mould.
This beautiful 7.25" Square Vase provides
the perfect canvas for a panoramic scene showing
Chickadees perched on a berry-laden pine branch, perhaps
observing the snow-covered landscape. You can also see a
grist mill and a fence surrounded by the pine trees in the
distance.
Designed by Frances Burton, this vase is
beautiful, no matter which side is viewed! See the photo
below for the wonderful winter scene that encircles this
vase.
Each Chickadee Cheer Square Vase is $195.

May the luck of the Irish will be with you when you
display your "Pot o' Gold" Ghost figurine!
Handcrafted in Opal Satin glass, Kim Barley chose a fun
design of a smiling leprechaun showing off his pot of
gold.
You'll love the hand painted details...
from the rainbow and colorful bow tie to the rusty red
beard and four leaf clovers (one in the front pocket and
the other on the back)!
Each Pot o' Gold Ghost figurine is $120.
Below, right:
Kim continues her "Let It Snow" design theme with our
Crown Tuscan Sitting Cat figurine! The snowman's
upraised arm holds a golden star, matching the ones on the
cat's "jingle bells" collar. |
|
Note the cute little blue
bird looking up at the snowman, the falling snow and
snow-covered tree, and the word "joy" on the
stitched pocket patch on the back.
Each Let It Snow Sitting Cat figurine is $75.
Below: This Opal Satin 7.25" Chessie Cat
Covered Box features the iconic Chessie Cat on the front and a
wonderfully detailed scene of a kitten attempting to get
closer to the birds by climbing up a smiling snowman on the
back side!
The "Chessie" was a popular cat character used as a symbol for
the Chesapeake and Ohio Railway. The sleeping kitten artwork
was used in advertisements with their slogan that you would
"sleep like a kitten" when traveling on their railway!
Frances Burton commented that when she saw the sleeping cat on
this Chessie Cat Box, she came up with the idea of the
sleeping kitten dreaming about catching one of the birds
fluttering around outside his window! We're sure you'll
agree with us that her resulting design is fan-cat-tastic!
Each "Kitten Dreams" Chessie Cat Covered Box is $210.

This lovely 9" tall vase, called "SunFlower," features a
bright design by cameo artists Kelsey Murphy and Robert
Bomkamp. Handcrafted in Aubergine glass and cased with
Milk Glass, the vase has an Aubergine layer that has a
wonderful satin finish. Cameo carving is a painstaking
process. After the glass has been annealed, a special
mask is taped to the surface of the glass. Using an
advanced "vignetting" technique, each piece is carefully
sandcarved, by hand, using aluminum oxide crystals under
pressure to take away some of the surface. Great
individual skill and experience are needed to control
this operation, as many distinct stages of successive
cameo carving are required to create the remarkable
depth and the intricate details. Made in 2011, this vase
was limited to just 40 pieces. This example is number 4
(identified on the underside with "4/40"), complete with
the inscribed signatures of Kelsey Murphy and Robert Bomkamp and the Fenton script "F" USA logo.
Here's a great opportunity to acquire a tool used in
glassmaking at the Fenton Art Glass Company factory in
Williamstown, West Virginia. Made of apple or cherry
wood, this tool was used to "carry over" a hot glass
item from one stage of the glassmaking operation to
another, such as carrying a small vase from the pressing
area to a skilled finisher seated at his bench who would
complete the vase by crimping it. Because this tool came
in direct contact with very hot glass, there is charring
and black soot on the surface of the wood. These tools
had to be replaced fairly often, so a woodworker in the
shop at Fenton would fashion them from time to time in
various sizes as needed by the glassworkers. Sure, you'd
get your finders a bit dirty touching those areas, but
that's what makes this the "real deal," a tool actually
used in making glass at Fenton.
With a tea light burning brightly inside, this wonderful
one-of-a-kind Ruby Amberina Candle Bowl (5" tall with 3.5”
diameter opening) from designer Frances Burton is sure to warm the
hearts and hearth in any home! Fenton’s Ruby glass formula
includes heat-sensitive ingredients and interesting color
variations often occur. Collectors take great delight in the
red-orange effect called "amberina." The Milk Glass interior
really sets off the Ruby glass exterior, and the vertical rib
optic adds a great look to this piece. The hand painted roses go
all around the bowl and are beautifully done. A tea light is
included with this Candle Bowl. It is identified, dated and signed
on the underside.
Take a look at these offerings and other "Buy It Now" items
available on our Fenton eBay Auctions. This Fenton
eBay auction ends at noon (ET) on Wednesday, December
30th. The next Fenton eBay Auction will begin at
Noon (ET) on Wednesday, January 6, 2016.
