Fenton Art Glass
Presents. . .
Butterfly Meadow Plate
We are pleased to offer special
glass selections from our remaining factory inventory. Shown
here is our beautiful Plate, handcrafted in Key Lime
Opalescent Stretch. This plate features a handpainted design
by Kim Barley called Butterfly Meadow. This design
depicts butterflies hovering near flowers that are
handpainted in lovely hues of pink. This functional piece is
perfect for a tabletop display or for use as a serving
platter. The display stand is included.
Stretch glass was first made about 1915 and played an
important part in Fenton's production during the 1920s.
Decades later we made this glass once again in much the same
way. After the glass is sprayed with a solution of metallic
salts to create the iridescent finish, the items are reheated
so that they can be reshaped. A skilled glassworker, called a
finisher, reshapes the item causing the iridescent surface to
stretch. This process creates a myriad of striations and a
texture that is a delight to see. Each piece reflects some of
the great traditions of the American glass industry as well as
our pride in handmade art glass.

Limited Quantity

Robin Spindler Specials!
Because of the very limited
quantity available on these two items, we ask that you please
call the Fenton Gift Shop at 1-800-319-7793 between 9 a.m. and
5 p.m. (ET) to purchase these
beautiful creations. Handcrafted in Robin's Egg Blue, each
piece features a design by award-winning Fenton designer Robin
Spindler. Robin saw a newspaper photo of an airplane flying
through a rainbow. This inspired her to create a special scene
of a vintage plane flying through a rainbow on a vase and a
small pitcher. The WWI era plane she chose to depict in her
scene is the Curtis JN-4D, which was more popularly known as
the Jenny. Robin's titled these pieces "On a wing and a
prayer." Each piece is handpainted, signed, dated, and
numbered by Robin. |

a day at the shore...and you'll love the delightfully
whimsical sealife depicted on this bead!
