Fenton Jewelry's April Garden Focal Bead . . . A Three Dimensional Work of Art!

April showers may bring May flowers. . .
and Fenton's molten glass creates beautiful art glass jewelry! Shown here is our three-dimensional April Garden glass Focal bead. Celebrate the arrival of Spring flowers with this unique handmade in USA Focal bead. Handcrafted in Milk Glass, April Garden is approximately 1'' long and 3/4'' in diameter and fits most popular brands of jewelry accessories.

This bead was a joint effort by our jewelry designers Jena Lane Blair and Truda ''TJ'' Mendenhall. April Garden features lovely raised glass jonquils and handpainted blue iris and floral accents. Jena said that creating a three-dimensional bead is ..."like painting with tiny threads of glass." As you can see, the end result is just lovely. The story card for this bead reads: Lovely jonquils and blue iris, my garden of tranquility. Each bead is initialed by the artist who completed the handpainted design.

Copenhagen, an Encased bead designed by Jena Lane Blair, is the perfect pairing for April Garden. This eye-catching bead features a thick layer of clear glass floating over a design made of multiple colors of glass and is almost prismatic in how it reflects light. Jena used colored glass rods and glass frit (crushed glass) to create a unique design and then patiently melted a smooth, thick layer of clear glass on top to magnify the details underneath.

Jena starts the Focal bead production process by melting a glass rod to shape the bead (above).  She then applies tiny drops of molten glass on to the Milk Glass bead surface to create the delicate petals of the flower.
