cameo carving process. We’re sure that the remarkable cameo
carving on this vase captures the very essence of Fenton Art
Glass.
The design for
the "105 Years of Glass" vase was created by cameo artists
Kelsey Murphy and Robert Bomkamp using photographs of
glassworkers and decorators at work in our plant. Our original
intent was to produce this "105 Years of Glass" vase as a
numbered limited edition to be sold on QVC, but our plans
changed when Kelsey and Bob created another design that we
subsequently produced as our "Artistry" vase
and offered through Fenton dealers (these are sold out!).
Kelsey and Bob continued to work on their "105 Years of Glass"
concept, and we ultimately produced just 25 of these very
special vases. Only 11 now remain in our inventory.
Each time you look upon this vase, you’ll discover
dramatic details and subtle shading. You’ll marvel
at the perspective and depth inherent in cameo carved art glass.
The 105
Years of Glass
vase depicts traditional glassmaking—gathering,
pressing, blowing, and finishing—as well as the art of the
decorator and the cameo carver. These are the people whose
skills and talents have made Fenton Art Glass famous
worldwide.
