Family Signature Baske
in Lotus Mist Burmese
In Nobody makes baskets like Fenton.
. . and nobody makes Lotus Mist Burmese glass like Fenton! You'll
have the best of both with our new Sun-Ray Basket for Spring 2011.
The Sun-Ray Basket retains its original name and is made from a
mould that originated at the Fostoria Glass Co. in Moundsville,
WV.
Lotus Mist Burmese provides the
perfect canvas for Kim Barley's soft and delicate floral design
called Hydrangeas on Lotus Mist on this 10'' Basket. This grouping
also includes a vase, rose bowl and bunny figurine. This beautiful
Sun-Ray Basket is inscribed with Scott Fenton's signature and is
also signed by the Fenton decorator who handpainted it.
George and Nancy Fenton worked closely with Wayne King, our
chemist, to develop Lotus Mist Burmese, which debuted in our
Fenton Historic Collection in 2000. George wanted to see if our
skilled craftsmen could make an opaque green from a glass batch
containing pure gold which would create a delicate pink when the
piece was reheated.
The formula for Lotus Mist Burmese includes a chromium compound
which gives the glass the green color. Opaque green colors have a
long history in glass, but, to the best of our knowledge, Lotus
Mist Burmese is a genuine innovation - the very first made from a
heat-sensitive batch containing gold to create the pink!

USA on QVC February 8, 2011!
Set your clocks to watch for introductions of new Fenton USA
products in the early hours on QVC! Fenton Art Glass will be
featured on QVC on February 8, 2011. Guest host George
Fenton will present items made especially for QVC, including
this adorable cat and kitten figurine set. The two hour-long
shows will broadcast from 3:00-4:00 a.m. and 1:00-2:00 p.m.
(Eastern time). Watch these newsletters for a preview of the
Fenton USA items to be offered during these two shows!
New Fenton pieces made especially
for a show will be on QVC.com not long before the show begins
to air, and may be ordered at that time and any later time
until they are gone. However, purchases of new items on the day of
the show are what is most watched. We appreciate the help of
