Fenton Glassmaking School This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for any glass connoisseur or art enthusiast! Class # 1: Friday, August 3, 2007, 6:30am - 10:00am Class # 2: Saturday, August 4, 2007, 6:30am - 10:00am Some folks think making glass is easy; we think our glassworkers are so darn good it just LOOKS easy... Heres your chance to find out! During our Fenton Festival of Glassmaking in Williamstown, W. Va. you can actually make glass! Join skilled Fenton artisans and experience the various skills of glassmaking. When we had Glassmaking School during our Centennial Celebration in 2005, we received the following comments: "Definitely would do this again!" - Lindsey W. "It was a very enjoyable experience. Something to remember for a lifetime. Thanks!" Cathy C. "I enjoyed the entire glassmaking experience. Well worth every penny." Anita B. "For all that I learned and the fun that I had ... I feel that I was undercharged! I would love to do this again. I can't wait!" Fred Z. "This is by far the most exciting thing that I have had the opportunity to do. Your factory artists made it educational as well as fun!" Karen B. Given the time and personal hands-on attention this event requires, we can only offer 14 tickets for each class. Tickets are $250 plus a small processing fee. MasterCard and Visa accepted. For more information, contact Jena Blair at 1-800-319-7793, ext. 311 or jena@fentongiftshop.com.

Fenton Riverboat Dinner Cruise Kickoff to the Fenton Festival of Glassmaking! Thursday,
August 2, 2007 Tickets still available! Spotlight Color: Carnival Glass To celebrate the centennial of Carnival glass, we have rediscovered and improved much of the original chemistry and techniques for iridizing glass. We salute the past and mark our place in the present with a panoply of Carnival glass colors in a wide variety of shapes contemporary. These pieces are surely the heirlooms of the future. 04386RC 12'' Red Carnival Tulip Bowl 06540UR 6-1/4'' Grape Leaf Red Carnival Candy Box 043919E 10'' Green Carnival Peacock Vase 081809E 9-3/4'' Dancing Ladies Green Carnival Covered Urn 065133Z 11'' Grape & Vine Black Carnival Bowl 04185KU 9'' Cobalt Blue Carnival Mayflower Vase 04257KU 6-1/2'' Hobstar Cobalt Blue Carnival Vase In the Fenton Sample Room this Week 1982 Sculptured Ice Optics Amethyst Vase Bid Now (eBay) This stately amethyst vase (9-1/2" tall) was in our Sculptured Ice Optics grouping in 1982. These pieces were difficult to produce, and the group was out of the Fenton line within a year. One seldom sees these in the marketplace today. Blue Satin Oval Picture Frame (Linda Everson) Bid Now (eBay) This iridized Blue Satin oval picture frame (4-1/2" tall for an oval picture that's 2-1/4" by 3") was handpainted by Linda Everson. Linda recently retired from Fenton, after a long career as a very talented decorator and designer. 1964 Vasa Murrhina or "Spangle" Double-Crimped Bowl Bid Now (eBay) Here's an experimental Vasa Murrhina or "spangle" double-crimped bowl (6-3/4" dia.) The treatment is amber overlay (milk glass interior), and flecks of mica are trapped perfectly between the layers of glass. This piece was made on February 21, 1964, as the still-intact production label indicates. Multi-Color Pastel Slag Hobnail Ashtray Bid Now (eBay) This is a wonderful "slag" ashtray (5" square) in our Hobnail pattern ... but we're not sure what to call the color! There are swirls of cobalt blue, pink, and green within the milk glass, so the effect is "multi-color pastel slag"! To Visit the Fenton Sample Room
