This Made in America handcrafted Paisley glass Bead was designed by Terry Henry, a visiting bead artist at Fenton. The Paisley bead reminds one of stained glass windows. our artists begin with a circle of silver-based Chalcedony (chal-said'-knee) glass and add spokes of thin black glass all around the perimeter. The spoke is reheated and pulled into a long rode which is cut into small slices. The artist then placed these tiny opaque slices around an ivory bead and reheats them. With deft hands, the artist pulls each molten slice into a deep pool of paisley floating inside the ivory bead. As you can see, the result is a beautiful handcrafted work of art!

Terry Henry, a California native, took her first flame working class in March of 2005 and immediately fell in love with beadmaking. Terry has taken additional classes from an array of exceptional instructors across the country. She is an award-winning glass artist and authored articles for the major bead journals. The beauty of Terry’s precious metal beadwork brings a new direction to Fenton. Because of the handmade process, bead size may vary from 1/2'' to 5/8'' in diameter.
