WILLIAMSTOWN — In August
of 2007, Fenton Art Glass officials announced they were closing.
Four months later the company said they found a way to stay in
business.
More than a year has passed since then and company President
George Fenton says they are getting creative with how to survive
the recession. George Fenton says they're producing small
groupings of products to help streamline production.
They are also starting to create products from recycled glass.
He's hoping these moves will help keep the company stable this
year.
"I don't know how anybody could be confident in these kinds of
markets and situations, but I think we have systems in place so we
can predict the future a little bit better. We can take steps more
quickly so we can see what happens in 2009," said George Fenton,
President, Fenton Art Glass.
Fenton is continuing to sell products on QVC. The next segment is
on March 4 at 11 AM and 8 PM.
