Fenton USA Presents. . .A Studio Fenton "Berry" Temple Jar
(Williamstown, WV, September 19, 2008). With a special colored glass
for their canvas, Cameo Artists Kelsey Murphy and Robert Bomkamp
have created a striking holiday Temple Jar in Ruby Amberina glass
for those who love Fenton glass. Included as part of the Studio
Fenton collection for Christmas 2008, the "Berry Temple" Jar is
strictly limited to 350 individually numbered pieces. The Temple Jar
features intricately carved holly leaves and berries winding around
the vase.
Cameo carving is a painstaking process, requiring both artistic
talent and considerable manual dexterity. Great skill and experience
create the remarkable depth, delicate shading, and intricate
details. A special mask is firmly taped to the surface of the
annealed glass. Using advanced vignetting techniques, each
individual piece is then meticulously sandcarved, sometimes with
many layers. Each piece designed by Kelsey and Robert is truly
unique.
Artists Kelsey Murphy and Robert Bomkamp call their southern West
Virginia studio "Made in Heaven," and the name is an apt one,
indeed. Collectors and museums alike, including the White House,
have come to regard Kelsey's and Robert's works as
"heavenly."
