Fenton Art Glass Reports Progress

(Williamstown, WV, March 31, 2008). The Fenton Art Glass Company has met its sales and shipping targets for the first quarter of 2008 and is now preparing new products to be offered to its dealer network on April 15.

“These are significant steps toward a successful restructuring of our finances,” company President George Fenton said. “Our plant is operating efficiently, and our financial advisors are pleased with the communication we have had with our creditors. Because we have completed glass production for the orders on hand, our glassmaking area will pause for a week or two. Other areas—decorating, sandcarving, shipping, etc.—will work on a modified schedule. The Fenton Gift Shop will maintain its regular hours, and the shelves there are fully stocked with our latest products as well as many other beautiful Fenton glass items and other giftware.”

Since beginning to reorganize its business in late 2007, Fenton Art Glass has made two new product offerings to its dealer network across the USA. Dealers have had limited time periods in which to order, and the orders received dictate production schedules for the glass company.

At a brief company-wide meeting on Monday, March 31, Fenton brought employees up to date on both the companý′s progress and its plans for the future, including decisions regarding the recently formed Fenton/International division.

Founded in 1905, the Fenton Art Glass Company is Americá′s foremost manufacturer of handmade colored art glass. The factory in Williamstown, West Virginia, began glass production on January 2, 1907.
